First steps in case of an accident:
- Ensure your safety and provide first aid if needed. If there are injured persons, call emergency services immediately (112).
- Put on a safety vest & secure the accident site:
- Turn on the hazard lights.
- Place the warning triangle at a sufficient distance.
- Inform the police: Call the police at 101.
- Contact MILES Support: Use the "?" button in the MILES app to reach our support team. We will guide you through the next steps.
Good to know:
To streamline the process, have the following information ready when calling:
- Names and contact details of the other party involved.
- License plate of the other vehicle.
Police and support are informed. What's next?
You will receive an accident report from us via email. Please note:
- Fill out the report truthfully – this is mandatory under our Terms & Conditions.
- Submit the completed report within 3 days.
- Missing or incorrect information may result in penalty fees.
Photos for the accident report:
To document the incident properly, take the following photos:
- Accident site: An overview of the entire situation.
- MILES vehicle: Photos of all four sides.
- Other vehicle: Including its license plate or, if applicable, the obstacle (e.g., fence, object).
- Police reference number: A photo of the document issued by the police.

- Every accident must be reported immediately to the police (101) and our support team.
- Failure to report = penalty fees and full liability for damages.
Note: Whether damages are present is assessed solely by MILES. Determining fault is handled exclusively by our legal department and insurance provider.
